General description of the collection: The Crim family papers consists of 197 letters and partial letters from both brothers to their mother mostly about personal matters. Forrest Crim mentions learning code and blinker signaling. Robert Crim complains about the heavy schedule and poor medical care for polio victims, but is pleased with his rest and relaxation leave in Bombay. There are also letters from Imogene Payne to Forrest Crim; pre-war letters from various people to Arch S. Dickson, a lawyer, concerning property and a treasure search in Alabama on the Crim farm; and a 1938 letter about the murders of the Holocaust. The former letter also has a contract regarding the use of a clairvoyant to find the treasure. The last set of letters, from Mr. Dickson to Mrs. Crim (mother of Forrest and Robert), made extensive comments on the wartime economy and the lack of farm labor.

Sergeant Forrest R. Crim and Staff Sergeant Robert D. Crim were brothers from Siluria, Alabama. Forrest Crim served in the federal civil service at Brookley Field, Mobile, Alabama. Forrest Crim worked in aero repair in the Aero-Electrical Department before joining the Army Air Forces as a mechanic. Staff Sergeant Robert D.
